S\u00fcleyman Arslan Kara Han\u2019a ithaf edilmi\u015ftir. T\u00fcrk edebiyat\u0131ndaki ilk mesnev\u00ee \u00f6rne\u011fi olup aruz \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcs\u00fcyle yaz\u0131lan ilk eserdir. 18 ayda tamamlanabilen bu eser, Karahanl\u0131 (Hakaniye) T\u00fcrk\u00e7esiyle kaleme al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Arap\u00e7a veya Fars\u00e7a kelimeler olduk\u00e7a azd\u0131r. Bu eserde T\u00fcrk milletinin hayat\u0131na geni\u015f yer verilmi\u015ftir. Bunlar\u0131n i\u00e7inde pek \u00e7ok s\u00f6z\u00fcn kayna\u011f\u0131n\u0131n \u00e2yet ve hadislere dayanmas\u0131 esere ayr\u0131 bir de\u011fer katar ve ilk T\u00fcrk-\u0130sl\u00e2m eseri olan Kutadgu Bilig, de\u011ferler bak\u0131m\u0131ndan \u0130sl\u00e2miyet\u2019e dayan\u0131r. \u0130sl\u00e2miyet\u2019e dayanan bu muhte\u015fem eserde, m\u00e2n\u00e2s\u0131n\u0131 \u00e2yet ve hadislerden alan, iktibas veya telmih yap\u0131lan beyitler incelenmi\u015ftir. Beyitler incelenirken \u00f6zellikle nasihatlerin bulundu\u011fu k\u0131s\u0131mlarda ve h\u00fck\u00fcm bildiren beyitlerde \u00e2yetlerden faydalan\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr.
